Croatia's economy minister Radimir Cacic has announced that, as of April 20, the state is the owner of the project for future LNG terminal on the island of Krk

Croatia's economy minister Radimir Cacic has announced that, as of April 20, the state is the owner of the project for future LNG terminal on the island of Krk, after buying it out from an international consortium of Adria LNG comprising E.on, Total, OMV and Geoplin. Talking further about other investments the state would engage in, Cacic mentioned in a working lunch with employers (HUP) that they include projects Plomin, Ernestinovo, Slavonski Brod, Dubrovnik II, Ombla – all investments the power generation sector. No other details about the LNG were announced, and it seems the consortium is consternated by Cacic's statements. It is rumoured the price of takeover was HRK 10m (and the consortium already invested EUR 15m). Cacic confirmed in the same meeting that price of electricity would go up from May 1.
