Теперь же с Sakhalin Energy был подписан новый контракт, который разделил этот объем на две равные части между Shell Eastern Trading Ltd и Gazprom Global LNG. Gazprom Marketing & Trading entered the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market in September 2005 to extend the reach of Russian gas to international gas markets in the US, Canada, Mexico, Spain and Asia - beyond the reach of the traditional pipeline model.
On 1st November 2008, Gazprom Marketing & Trading announced the formation of a new LNG subsidiary company, (GGLNG). A team of 15 is devoted to developing the company's LNG capabilities across the value chain.
Reorganising the business and establishing allows Gazprom to focus the LNG expertise within the company and create an LNG identity across the group over the long term. This group will be responsible for the negotiation of sale and purchase agreements for the Shtokman LNG project in the Barents Sea, the associated LNG ship building program and building the capability to trade around these long term commitments.
